Our Tenancy Sustainment Team provides early, practical assistance to help tenants remain secure in their homes. Our focus is on addressing potential issues at the earliest opportunity, working collaboratively with local partners to ensure tenants receive the appropriate advice, resources, and community-based support.
We are also able to offer one-off crisis support, energy guidance, income maximisation support, and money guidance to help tenants meet their tenancy obligations with confidence.
Adaptations update
Each year, we undertake medical adaptations to our properties to support tenants in living safely and independently. These adaptations range from minor adjustments, such as the installation of handrails, to more extensive works including wet rooms and adapted kitchens. This programme is grant funded through the Scottish Government.
Following a significant reduction in funding during 2024/25, we were pleased to receive an increased allocation for 2025/26. This has enabled us to progress essential adaptations for tenants newly referred to our service, as well as those who had been waiting during the period of reduced funding. Over the past year, we completed 131 adaptations to support our tenants to maintain independence within their homes.
“As an Albyn Housing tenant with limited mobility, I needed a wet room with specialist aids. My occupational therapist expected it to take well over a year, but thanks to Niki from the adaptations team, it was completed in just eight months. Niki went above and beyond at every stage—truly listening to my needs, thinking carefully about every detail, and tailoring everything to make the space perfectly suited to me. It never felt like just a job—her dedication, kindness, and thoughtful approach have completely transformed my comfort, independence, and daily life.”
“Also I want to thank you again for your help and effort to get him the walk in shower which was such a blessing for him as his mobility gradually got worse but still enjoyed his shower and so much easier for me as there is a built in chair which makes such a difference for safety and everything. You certainly didn’t waste any time getting it for him which I appreciate.”
“I just wanted to drop a wee message to say thank you. The shower is complete and it’s amazing. Huge difference to [SIC] life and mine, it took a while but has been totally worth the wait. I would also like to say James Ross and crew are fantastic at what they do and worked non-stop from the time they arrived to late evening to get the job done and to a fantastic standard. Thanks again for everything”
