Rent Increase and Ways to Pay

Rent Increase 2026/27

In December, we shared details of the current economic climate, and what that meant for how Albyn could invest in your homes and housing management services. We offered three rent increase options and explained what each option would mean for investment. Around 16% of tenants responded to the survey and selected a 4.8% increase.
Rent increase letters were sent out at the end of February by Royal Mail. If you didn’t receive yours, or if you have any questions after receiving your letter, please contact the Income Team — we are here to help and are happy to talk things through.
Please remember to make sure your rent payments are updated in line with the new charges from 1 April. Direct Debit updates automatically, so if you pay this way you do not need to do anything. However, if you pay by Standing Order or Allpay, you must update the payment amount yourself to avoid falling into arrears.
If you receive Universal Credit, you must update your online journal on 1 April so your housing costs increase correctly. If you receive Housing Benefit, your local Council will update your award, although part‑HB claimants may still need to notify the Council about their new charges.
If you currently have a repayment arrangement for arrears, please contact the Income Team so we can make sure your plan remains on track.
