Housing Officer – Tenancy Sustainment

Contract Terms: 35 hours per week (full time), permanent
Salary: £41,904- £46,015, Grade E4-E1 + car allowance.  Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.
Location: Invergordon with hybrid working (Weekly office attendance is required, typically across multiple days each week)

About the role

Albyn Housing is looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Housing Officer to deliver high-quality customer service to our tenants. You will manage an allocated caseload ensuring our organisation’s aims, objectives and performance standards are met.

As a Housing Officer in our Tenancy Sustainment team, you will help tenants moving into their homes and help them manage changes to their personal circumstances that may impact their tenancy.

You will:

  • Deliver effective housing management services relating to Tenancy Sustainment.
  • Provide information and advice to customers on relevant aspects of policy, legislation, and their tenancy obligations.
  • Engage with customers to develop and deliver local services in accordance with Scottish Social Housing Charter requirements.
  • Investigate and respond to customer contacts, including complaints, in line with the Scottish Public Sector Ombudsman (SPSO) complaints process and internal guidance.
  • Help to develop and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
  • Assist in the development of and apply relevant policies, procedures, and good practice.
  • Carry out all duties in line with Albyn’s values and policies.
  • Carry out any other duties to the standards set as may reasonably be required by the business needs of the Society.

 

We’re looking for someone with…

  • Experience of working in a customer focused environment.
  • Knowledge of Scottish housing legislation, tenancy management, and welfare systems.
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to achieving successful performance results and working to deadlines.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office e.g. Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work proactively and collaboratively.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and make decisions independently, taking responsibility for the decision made, appropriate to the level of the post
  • Full UK Driving licence with access to a vehicle

 

This position offers a mix of office and remote working, along with site visits across the Highlands.

The role includes a requirement to participate in the out‑of‑hours cover rota, providing support outside of normal working hours when required. This commitment is expected to be approximately three times per year and will be planned in advance wherever possible.
