We want local skills for Board positions
Tuesday 28 August 2018
We are adding to our Board of Management and are encouraging local business professionals to come forward and apply for one of the new positions.
As we and our two subsidiaries prepare for an enhanced build programme, projected business growth and several innovation partnerships over the coming years, we are seeking out people with skills in the fields of entrepreneurship, finance, IT, technology and business leadership gained from SME and large corporation backgrounds.
These new skills, we believe, will support our ambitions as we navigate challenges such as welfare reform and ongoing austerity, as well as fresh social enterprise opportunities in the fields of mid-market rent, factoring and other new service innovations.
Calum Macaulay, the Society’s Managing Director, said: “In launching our search for new talent, we’ve evaluated what skills we need across our organisations to ensure that we continue to serve our customers to the best of our abilities, as well as create new opportunities for the people of the Highlands for years to come.
“We want passionate, enthusiastic people who will support our overarching vision, which is to provide for the relief of those in need through the provision, construction, improvement and management of land and accommodation and the provision of care. We also believe that diverse experiences and backgrounds will be hugely beneficial in offering fresh perspective, new skills and increased awareness of the needs and aspirations of our customers.
“This is an exciting time for the business – we’re on track to deliver our ambitious target for new homes, our subsidiaries are growing and developing transformational new partnerships, and our teams are demonstrating national leadership in supporting customers as they transition to Universal Credit. We very much look forward to welcoming new faces to the team.”
We currently own and manage more than 3,000 affordable rented homes across the Highlands with a view to grow this number year on year. The Board is responsible for the strategic direction, governance, and overall control of the society and our two subsidiaries.
Highland Residential is a letting and estate agency and factoring service provider, which specialises in mid-market rent and shared equity home purchase.
