Our new development at Clachnaharry in Inverness is now complete
Albyn has announced the completion of its latest Inverness development at Clachnaharry, providing 16 high quality new homes for rent and shared equity purchase.
Developed by local company North Property Ltd, with support from Armour & Partners, the £1.6 million project consists of 11 two-bedroom common entry flats for rent, plus five reserved for sale under the Scottish Government’s low cost homeownership scheme, LIFT.
The Scottish Government contributed just over £600,000 grant funding towards construction costs.
Calum Macaulay, our Chief Executive, said: “Inverness is the most sought after location by people on the Highland Housing Register, so it is vitally important that housing providers continue to develop high quality affordable homes in the city as it continues to grow.
“Despite funding cuts, we are still very ambitious about our development activity and the important role it plays in regenerating and revitalising Highland communities. In addition, our high quality projects help to raise the standard of affordable housing stock in the region whilst at the same time providing vital investment for the local construction industry.
“During 2013/14 Albyn Housing Society aims to produce 123 rented and 73 LIFT homes in 15 communities across the Highlands, with several developments planned for Inverness.
“This highlights our commitment to maintaining our reputation as the leading provider of high quality affordable homes in the Highlands.”
