Albyn Interim CEO Responds to the Chancellor Spring Statement
The Interim CEO of Albyn Housing Society, Kirsty Morrison, has responded to the Chancellor Spring Statement:
“Many of our tenants are facing an unprecedented cost of living crisis, with spiralling energy, fuel and food bills. Our tenants are facing a double whammy of being charged higher energy costs than anywhere else in the country and colder temperatures, despite the source of much of our energy being generated on our doorstep. A large percentage of our tenants in Highland communities were already struggling on low incomes. We are disappointed there is nothing from the Chancellor in the Spring Statement to tackle this fuel poverty and cost of living crisis, so we are calling for financial support from Government now for our tenants, many of whom are elderly and vulnerable.”
